Yin Guomao, an academician in Chinese Academy of Engineering
Yin Guomao, an academician in Chinese Academy of Engineering, was born in Longkou, Shandong Province in January 1932, and graduated from Dalian Institute of Technology in 1953. As one of the first batch of elected academicians of in Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995, Yin is a famous expert in rolling technology and equipment in China, who has served as a chief engineer and later factory director of Chengdu Seamless Steel Pipe Plant, and has long been engaged in the design, production and research work of pipe-rolling process facilities.
Academician Yin’s main academic achievement is our country’s first set of automatic rolling machine group, proposing and implementing the new process of producing large-sized seamless steel tube by reducing the diameter, as well as the new technology of negative tolerance rolling control. Yin has technically presided over the buildup of the first set of cycle rolling unit in China, and deduced a mathematical equation of 216 cycle rolling force parameters. Besides, Yin has put forward and led the buildup of the first set of short-process precise tube mill in China. Under his leadership, a number of large-scale technical transformation and infrastructure projects have been completed. In addition, he has participated in developing a variety of new steel grades, and has repeatedly won the second prize of National Invention Award and other national and provincial prizes.
