Profile of Liu Zhenyu

 

Liu Zhenyu was born in Chifeng City of Inner Mongolia in May 1967. He obtained a Ph.D. in engineering in 1996 and currently serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor in Northeastern University. Over the years, he has been engaged in the research of rolling technology and the evolution of material organization and performance. His work mainly covers the development of thin strip casting and rolling technology, structure control of oxidized iron of hot rolled steel plate, development of new steel grades (plain carbon steel and stainless steel) and new processes, organization performance prediction in the hot rolling process, intensive rolling, and so on. So far, he has conducted and completed several government sponsored programs, including the key and general project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, 973 program, 863 program, Science and Technology Support Program projects, as well as a number of horizontal projects in enterprise technology development. He has published more than 200 papers, which was cited for more than 270 times in SCI journals. Also, he has published one translated work and one monograph, applied and was authorized for more than 20 national invention patents, and won 7 scientific and technological awards at provincial and ministerial level. In 2004, he received fund from Ministry of Education as a “New Century Excellent Talent”. In 2010, he won the “Jianghe Faculty Fellowship” awarded by Northeastern University and enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council.

 

Profile of Li Jianping

 

 

Li Jianping was born in November 1958 in Changchun of Jilin Province. He graduated from the Industrial Automation Department of Northeastern Institute of Technology (the predecessor of Northeastern University) in July 1985. He is a researcher at Northeastern University and currently serves as Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation. He is also the head for the research direction of “Pilot Research Innovation Platform of Modern Rolling Process”.
Main research directions: 1) Comprehensive automation control of material forming process; 2) Mathematical, physical simulation and optimization control of rolling process; 3) Gas pressure forming process and control technology of high strength steel; 4) Theory and practice of rolling process technology and control technology .
He has hosted and participated in more than 10 national and provincial research projects including in the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Plan Special Project, the National “973 Program” and international cooperation projects. He took the lead in building China’s first R&D and innovation platform for rolling technology, equipment and products, and achieved important research results in the field of theory, preparation and application of rolling process and continuous annealing heat treatment pilot study. He has successively developed a series of hot-rolled experimental units with asynchronous hot rolling, reduced-diameter rolling and combined rapid cooling functions, and successfully developed the first “high-precision hydraulic tension four-roll reversing cold-warm rolling test mill” and “multi-functional continuous Annealing Simulator” in China. His research results have been widely applied in steel enterprises. He has undertaken more than 50 research and development projects, including more than 20 scientific research projects with over RMB 10 million in research funding.
 So far, he has obtained 8 national invention patents, published 3 textbooks and academic works, and published more than 40 papers in important publications and academic conferences at home and abroad. In 2012, he was awarded the 2
nd
Prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award for the project “Innovation platform for Modern Rolling technology, Equipment and Products”. He has also won other 9 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards (including 2 first-prize and 4 second prizes), 1 first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award in Shenyang, and 1 first prize for Natural Science Academic Achievement Award in Shenyang. In 2012, he was awarded the title of “Top 10 Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers in Shenyang”.

 


Profile of Zhang Dianhua


Zhang Dianhua, male, was born in February 1963 in Chifeng of Inner Mongolia. He studied at Northeastern University in 1978 majoring in Automation Control. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1982, a master's degree in engineering in 1984, and a doctorate in 2003. He is currently Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation at Northeastern University. He is also a professor and doctoral supervisor. He is a member of the Jiusan Society.

Main research directions: material forming process control mathematical model, material forming process automation, material forming process intelligent control, material forming process system identification and simulation.


He undertook and completed many major projects of National Natural Science Fund, 973 Program, 863 Program, and National Research Project, such as the “Development of a New Generation of Multifunctional Thermal Simulator” and “2150 Hot Rolling Mill Intelligent Optimization Control and Automation System Industrialization Application”. He presided over and successfully completed more than 100 large and medium-sized material forming automation projects of the Northeastern University's State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation, including “Distributed Computer Control System for Three-stand Tandem Cold Rolling Mill”, “Computer Control System for Tangshan Iron and Steel 1700mm Five-stand Chill Rolling Mill”, “Shougang Plate Mill AGC Computer Control System” , “Pansteel’s Domestic Research and Application of Key Technologies and Equipment for 1450 Hot Continuous Rolling”, “Automatic Control System Research and Development for 800,000t Fine Cold Rolling Project Pickling Tandem Cold Rolling Unit”.


He has published more than 120 papers, received more than 10 patents, and edited 2 monographs. In 2006, he was awarded the 2nd Prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the 1st Prize in Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award for the project “Research and Application of Key Technologies and Equipment for Domestic 1450 Hot Continuous Rolling”. He was also awarded many other awards, such as the 2nd Prize in Metallurgical Science and Technology Award and 1st Prize in Beijing Science and Technology Award for the project “The Hydraulic AGC of the Four-high Finishing Mill at Shougang’s Plate Rolling Mill”, 1st Prize in Shenyang Science and Technology Progress Award for the project “The Modern Large-scale Plate Mill Rolling Process, Equipment and Automation System Integration”, 3rd Prize in Liaoning Province Science and Technology Award for the project of “Intelligent Digital Processing Information System”, 1st Prize in Metallurgical Science and Technology Award for the project “Independent R&D and Industrial Application of Core Technology of Cold Rolling Machine Shape Control System”, 1st Prize in Liaoning Science and Technology Progress Award for the project “The Pilot Test Innovation of Modern Rolling Process” , 2nd Prize in Metallurgical Science and Technology Award for the project “The Research and Development of Thermal Simulation Experimental Technology and Equipment - MMS Series Thermal Simulation Testing Machine”, and 1st Prize in Metallurgical Science and Technology Award for the project “The Equipment and Application of Plate Rolling Pilot Test”.
In 2000, he was awarded the titles of “Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher in Liaoning Province”and the “Academic Leader in Liaoning Province”. In 2003, he won the fourth Liaoning Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award, and was elected as a “100-level expert” in Liaoning Talent Project in 2004 and received a government grant in 2005. In 2007, he won “Jianghe Faculty Fellowship of Northeastern University”. In 2008, he was named “Top Ten Outstanding Young and Middle-aged S&T Talents” by the Liaoning Committee of Jiusan Society. So far, he has trained more than 50 graduate students, and 7 doctoral students.


Profile of Zhao Xianming


Zhao Xianming, male, was born in June 1965 in Hengren County of Liaoning Province. From 1983-1987, he studied in Harbin Institute of Technology majoring in Forging Technology and Equipment and obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He obtained his master’s degree in engineering and doctor’s degree in Harbin Institute of Technology in March 1992 and 1995, respectively. He is currently a professor at Northeastern University's State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation, and a member of the Communist Party of China.

Main research direction: steel rolling theory and technology, computer simulation and optimization of material forming process, development of low-cost high-strength steel production technology, new technology and new technology of material forming, controlled rolling and controlled cooling equipment and process development.

He had undertaken and completed many key projects, including two projects in National 863 Program: the “Structural Performance Prediction and Inspection System for Continuous Casting and Hot Rolling of Iron and Steel Materials” and “Key Technologies for the Application of Fine Grain Rebars and Square Steel Pipes in Construction”, one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China:“Thin Strip Continuous Casting and Rolling Process Organizational Performance Control and Testing, one National Major Technical Equipment Research Project: “Shougang 3500mm Plate Mill Core Rolling Technology and Key Equipment Development”, one project in National 973 Program “Structural Control Theory of High Performance Steel and Technical Basic Research”, and four international cooperation projects with Pohang Iron and Steel Company of South Korea. He was awarded the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2003 for “Large-scale critical force component local loading precision forming technology” and nine other provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards. He has published more than 60 papers, obtained 4 authorized patents, participated in the compilation of 3 textbooks, and trained more than 40 graduate students. In 2000, he was awarded the title of “Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher in a Regular University in Liaoning Province”. In 2004, he was enrolled as a “100-person level expert” in the Talent Project of Liaoning”. In 2006, he was awarded the title of “Outstanding Individual of Northeastern University” and “Advanced Individual for Tertiary Education”. In 2008, he was awarded as an “Outstanding Teacher at Northeastern University”.


Profile of Cong Guangyu

Cong Guangyu, male, was born in March 1977 in Dehui of Jilin Province. He was a member of Communist Party of China. He graduated from School of Arts in Northeastern Normal University in July 2002, majoring Chinese Language and Literature Education. In July 2012, he obtained a master's degree in philosophy of science and technology from College of Arts and Law of Northeastern University.

From July 2002 to November 2007, he served as a student counselor and a secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Foreign Studies College at Northeastern University.

From November 2007 to July 2013, he was the Director of the Office of the Foreign Studies College and Assistant to the Dean.

Since July 2013, he has served as Deputy Director of the RAL and is responsible for personnel, administration, and service management.
