CS2350 Dual-unit electrochemical workstation – Operation Rules
- Preheating—to keep the instrument work with the smallest temperature drift, switch on the power supply to warm up for 5 to 20 minutes before each operation.
- Start the computer and open Corrtest software; select the appropriate function.
- Connect electrolytic cell -- insert the working electrode, auxiliary electrode into an electrolytic cell. The reference electrode should be placed in the open-type AGAR salt bridge, and the AGAR surface should be added with several milliliters of KCl solution. A better way is to let the reference electrode go through the hole in the middle of rubber stopper, and then insert the rubber into the salt bridge, which can avoid the dryness and crack of the AGAR. Iron stand units are used for stabilizing electrolytic cell.
- Connect the black and green jacket clip of the electrode with research electrodes; connect the red jacket clip with auxiliary electrode; connect the yellow jacket clip with reference electrode. If the open-circuit potential displays reasonable value on Corrtest software, it indicates that electrolytic cell is set properly.
- For noise-susceptible system (high coating system), Farady shielded box is needed, and connect the box to the shield terminal of the electrode cable.
- Conduct electrochemical experiments with different functions.
- Power off the machine and computer after experiment. Clean the electrolytic cell.
