Ø450×450 Two-high (Asynchronous) Hot Rolling Experimental Unit



  1. 1.     Function

The hot rolling unit is an experimental equipment used in the development of new process, new equipment, new product in medium plate, hot continuous rolling plate and strip. The unit has synchronous, asynchronous, different-diameter controll rolling and combination-control cooling functions, and the cooling speed can be adjusted within the range from air-cooling to quenching. The unit can fulfill laboratory simulation of production process, deformation, mechanical parameters and organizational performance in the rolling production site, and obtain the regular influence pattern between process conditions and material deformation, organizational transformation and mechanical properties, which serves for the research, development and innovation of technological processes, equipment and products in iron and steel enterprises.

2. Technological Process

Billet cutting → heating → two-high reversible rolling →temperature waiting → ultrafast cooling / laminar / mist cooling → sample (material) collection → data collection→printing report

Water flow of each group laminar cooling: 10 ~ 50m3 /h

Water flow of each group ultra-fast cooling: 10 ~ 70m3/h, maximum pressure: 0.9Mpa

Technical (safety) Operation Rules

  1. The mill shall be operated by specially-assigned people. Without permission, anyone cannot operate it.
  2. Before the start, you should ensure no foreign objects on the roller bed; there is sufficient oil and water; and everything is in order.
  3. First, switch on the power in the 1st power cabinet and the fan switch in the 2nd power cabinet; wait about 10 seconds; when the red light of programmable controller on the 5th power cabinet is off, press the hydraulic pump power and cooling pump power.
  4. Before the hot rolling, rolling schedule should be designed and input into the computer to adjust the roll bite. Never operate beyond the range of standard loading to avoid damaging the equipment.
  5. While the mill is working, operators should always monitor its working condition. Once emergencies occured, operators must stop the mechine immediately.
  6. After rolling, lift up rollers,  cut off water and electricity, clean the working environment, and fill in the equipment records.
