From Sept. 27 to 30, 2013, Prof. Wang Guodong, Prof. Du Linxiu, Associate Prof. Gao Cairu, and doctoral student Hu Jun took part in “2013 of Vanadium and Titanium High Strength Steel Development and Application Exchange” held in Cheng Du, Sichuan Province.
The meeting was jointly sponsored by Vanadium Branch of China Iron and Steel Industry Association, Vanadium International Technical Committee (VANITEC), and the Strategic Alliance of Vanadium and Titanium Resources Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Technology Innovation, hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Vanadium and Titanium Resources Comprehensive Utilization and Panzhihua Iron & Steel Research Institute, and assisted by Micro-alloyed Non-quenched and Tempered Steel Academic Committee of CSM Special Steel Branch, , Sichuan Society for Metals. Nearly 100 experts and scholars from institutions of higher education, research institutes and related enterprises all over China attended the meeting. Participants of the meeting had an in-depth exchange on the technical process, variety and performance, basic theories and scientific issues in the metallurgy and material preparation of vanadium and titanium steel and achieved fruitful results.
During the meeting, Academician Wang Guodong made an important report, titled “Current Research Situation of V & Ti Micro-alloyed Steel Precipitation in RAL”. He made a detailed introduction about RAL’s latest research development in fields of NG-TMCP control technology for V & Ti micro-alloy high strength steel, carbonitride precipitation under ultrafast cold conditions, interphase precipitation control technology and the industrial promotion and application of ultra-high strength automotive sheet. He also put forward some important advices on how to further develop theoretical research and application of Vanadium and Titanium precipitation in steel industry.
Associate Professor Gao Cairu gave a presentation on microstructure and property control technology of V-N micro-alloyed high-strength bridge steel and the effect of N on V-containing steel’s welding performance. Student Hu Jun introduced the study on precipitation behavior in bainite region of V-N micro-alloyed high-strength steel and the effect of crystalline internal nucleation ferrite in improving the impact toughness of welding heat impacted zone. Organizers and delegates highly praised RAL’s achievements in basic theoretical research and application of vanadium and titanium precipitation.
