CAS-120 multifunctional annealing simulation test machine, developed by RAL, was put into use a few days ago.
The size of this apparatus is: 450×120×0.2～3mm. Features are as follows:
1）It adopts direct resistance heating technique to heat sample, with the highest heating rate 300℃/s (1mm thick), and could be used in rapid heating anealing technology research.
2）It has the feature of high precision and fast response when applied in direct welding thermocouple sample temperature testing, and could realize fast, precise and flexible sample temperature measurement and control.
3） It adopts adjustable pressure and flow rate gas to spray sample for cooling. The maximum cooling rate of 1mm thick steel can be 150℃/ s.
4）It can choose a variety of heat treatment atmosphere, including NH3, CO, CO2, CH4，as well as N2 and H2, to realize the annealing process in different oxidizing or reductive annealing atmosphere.
5）It uses laser Raman gas analyzer to detect and control the annealing atmosphere, which ensures the accuracy of detecting multi-component atmosphere.
6）Annealing atmosphere can achieve +60℃ dew point detection, which provides a new method to study the high hydrogen and high dew point decarbonization process.
7）Testing machine uses a compact design of the furnace chamber, which effectively reduce the consumption of annealing atmosphere during the experiment and the demand for gas usage.
CAS-120 can be widely used in the study on oncontinuous annealing of various steel plates, bright annealing of stainless steel, selective oxidation of alloying elements, decarbonization, carburizing, nitriding, denitriding, nitrogen-nitriding and other heat treatment technology.
The testing machine will greatly promote the development of advanced hot rolling process and new materials, which will give important support for the basic research and application of materials in NEU.
