RAL Signed a Contract with Tianjin Polytechnic University on Research and Development of Hot Rolling Asynchronous Rolling Test Equipment

RAL signed a contract on research and development of hot rolling asynchronous rolling test equipment for sheet metal with Tianjin Polytechnic University in May, 2014. This equipment can be applied to the research on metal sheet hot and warm rolling technology and development of new product.

This rolling mill adopts two DC power supplies to drive the upper and lower rolls respectively, through compound gearbox. It can achieve the synchronous and asynchronous hot continuous rolling of medium thickness sheet. Asynchronous rolling can make shear deformation, form refine grain crystal and improve the rolled piece organization uniformity in its thickness direction and impact toughness. At the same time, asynchronous rolling can ensure good flatness. The rolling mill can also maintain its special features under high stiffness, low temperature or high pressure. To meet the technical requirements of high-strength steel, high-temperature alloy and other hard deformation sheets, and reduce temperature drop of small samples during hot rolling, the mill adopts fully hydraulic pressure in a high speed of rolling, whose front and rear rollers adopt flower-like structure, so as to ensure a minimum finishing temperature. To meet the demand of warm rolling of thin mental sheets, a special heating technology is applied to preheating. The preheating temperature can be controlled between 50-300℃. The control system can detect processing data and report statistics, and it can also provide detailed and reliable experimental data. The project is currently under detailed design.
