On August 19, the appointment ceremony of Science and Technology Advisory Board of Inner Mongolia Huolinguole City People's Government, i.e. the opening ceremony of East Mongolia Aluminum and New Materials Industrial Technology Research Institute, was held in the city government and the research institute. Relevant leaders from Tongliao City and Huolinguole City, and more than 10 science and technology advisory experts from Inner Mongolia Jinlian Aluminum Co., Ltd. and China Non-ferrous Metals Processing Technology Co., Ltd, (briefed as CNPT) attended the ceremony. Representatives of RAL, including Academician Wang Guodong, Prof. Wang Zhaodong and Liyong also attended the meeting.
In the opening ceremony, Liu Haishi, Dean of East Mongolia Aluminum and New Material Industrial Technology Research Institute, made a brief introduction to the institute. He stressed that the institute was built to meet the needs of local economic development and innovative projects of enterprises; the institute would play a more important role in new aluminum materials, intelligent equipment, advanced manufacturing equipment, energy-saving and emission reduction technology, and advanced environmental protection technology, and provide strong technical support for Huolinguole City to build a high-end aluminum industrial base.
Academician Wang Guodong said that Huolinguole city has rich resources, and the next important work for the city is to find a way to raise the additional value of the products by aluminum processing, produce high-end aluminum, and help enterprises to improve efficiency. He expressed the hope that Northeastern University could integrate its advantage in aluminum processing with the resource advantage of Huolinguole, and through technical innovation and leading aluminum processing industries to upgrade their technologies, make due contribution to building Huolinguole into a new-type industrialized demonstration base and a high-end aluminum base in northeastern area.
Zhang Guoping，Municipal Party Committee Secretary of Huolinguole stressed that the establishment of the research institute marked the innovation in science and technology of our city has stridden a firm step forward, and is of great significance to fully mobilize innovation force, efficiently integrate innovation resources and extensively attract innovative talents. We should take this as an opportunity to actively set up a technology innovation alliance, which takes enterprise as the main body, government as the guide, and realizes joint development of production, study and research; the alliance should have complementary advantages, and share benefits and risks to promote the economic development in the region.
After the opening ceremony, Professor Wang Guodong and Dean Liu Haishi, on behalf of Northeastern University and East Mongolia Aluminum and New Material Industrial Technology Research Institute respectively, jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Based on the basic principle of “equality and mutual benefit, resource sharing, common development, and cooperation priority”, the two sides will carry out cooperation in research on advanced casting and rolling technology of aluminum alloy automotive plate, casting sheet cold rolling and aging process parameter optimization, design of aluminum alloy advanced automotive plate casting - rolling - heat treatment production line, and research on high strength aluminum alloy key production technology and key equipment of aviation aluminum. The cooperation between the two sides will promote cooperation between enterprises and universities, lead the development of aluminum processing industry, promote technological innovation, accelerate the training of qualified personnel and contribute to a win-win situation for both the production and study & research.
In order to speed up the pace of scientific and technological innovation, promote industrial development of aluminum and other new materials, complete the construction of the national important aluminum and new materials industry cluster at an early date, and ensure that East Mongolia Aluminum and New Materials Technology Research Institute starts from a high standard, and develops at a high level, Huolinguole City Government decided to hire 11 experts including Academician Wang Guodong (Northeastern University) as the science and technology advisory board for the city.
At the appointment meeting, Zhang Guoping, Municipal Party Committee Secretary of Huolinguole, introduced the city and industrial development to the experts, hoped the experts could organize relevant scientific and technological activities based on the city's industrial and economic situation, and put forward advices and suggestions for the development of Huolinguole City.
