Tangshan Medium Thickness Plate Co., Ltd held its press briefing about the product upgrading and other relative projects in 411 Meeting Room of RAL, Northeastern University.. A team of 11 members including the Dean of HBIS (Hebei Iron and Steel Group) Research Institute Li Jianxin, Vice General Manager Zhang Hongbo and Expert Dong Hemin, Vice General Manager Zhang Kuobin listened to the summary of all projects concluded by NEU, and made in-depth and detailed discussion on some technical issues. Experts and leaders participating in the meeting were very content with the process of all projects charged by RAL, especially that all our teachers could pay due attention to problems occurred in real-time operation and solve these problems practically, which provides a strong guarantee to smooth production, costs reduction, and productivity improvement.
Since HBIS established the model of collaborative innovation with NEU, both sides have consulted for many times on technical problems that need to be solved urgently and transformation that needs to be done for product upgrading by HBIS. They finally identified the following cooperation projects: “Key technology development for efficient, low-cost and clean steel”, “Technology development for typical product of high-grade steel”, “Technology development for rolling system improvement project — the solidification of continuous caster 2# under great pressure”, “Technology development for low-cost and high-performance medium thickness plate products and iron oxide control”, “Technology development to control the planar shape for medium thickness plate”, “Automation and control systems for steel rolling system improvement project on Line1 and Line2”, “Upgrading 3500mm ADCOS-PM on product structure transformation Line1”. Since the cooperation, fellow teachers from all project teams headed by Academician Wang Guodong went to the scene for several times, and actively solved various technical difficulties. All these relevant technologies played an important role in product upgrading, quality improvement, and cost reduction for Tangshan Medium Thickness Plate Co, Ltd.
