On November 2, the re-election meeting of director and academic committee director of State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation, Northeastern University (RAL) was held in Conference Room 411 of RAL. Wang Jinkuan, Vice President of Northeastern Universty, and Wang Guoren, director of Sci-tech Department, attended the meeting.
First of all, on behalf of Northeastern University, Vice President Wang Jinkuan read out the document titled“Appointment notice of director and academic committee director of State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation”issued by Department of Educational Technology of Ministry of Education (Document No. 2015308). The notice says, according to the relevant provisions of“Construction and Operation Management Measures of State Key Laboratories”, in order to ensure sustained and stable development of the State Key Laboratory, standardize and strengthen the recruitment management of the laboratory’s leader group, on the basis of public recruitment and recommendation, and after careful review on the qualification of the candidates, Ministry of Education approves to appoint Prof. Wang Zhaodong as the director f RAL, and Prof. Gan Yong as the academic committee director of RAL, with a duration of five years.
In his speech, Vice President Wang Jinkuan fully affirmed the achievements made by former leader group of RAL, and stressed the importance of RAL in the development and scientific research of Northeastern University, and the important contribution to the development of national economy. He also expressed his expectation that all the staff of RAL could take the re-election of director as a new starting point, support the work of new director, and achieve greater development and make greater contribution to the development of Northeastern University.
In the re-election meeting, Prof. Wu Di, former director of RAL, said that the development of RAL depends on joint efforts of all the staff. He hoped that RAL could make greater achievement under the leadership of the new director and leader group, and wished RAL to have a better future.
The new director Prof. Wang Zhaodong expressed his attitude and determination to the leaders attending the meeting and all the staff of RAL. He stressed that he would carry forward the spirit of innovation, sincerely cooperate with all the staff, and promote the cultivation of innovative talents and the transformation and development of metal material industry in China. He would carry forward the advantages and overcome the disadvantages, be honest and dedicated to his official duties, and serve all the staff of RAL. He expected that in the next 5 years, facing significant needs of national economy and the country, he would spare no efforts to strive for a brighter future for RAL.
