Recently, RAL and Shandong Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd (SISG) officially signed the contract of“Ultra-fast Cooling System for 2050mm Hot Strip Mill of Rizhao Fine Steel Base, SISG”. With advanced technical solutions, complete sets of equipment technology and strong scientific research strength, RAL successfully won the bid for this project.
2050mm conventional hot strip mill is established following the overall planning and requirements of SSIG Rizhao Fine Steel Base project, with an annual capacity 480ton. In view of the latest development of cooling technology after rolling, and in order to meet the development and production needs of specialized hot rolling strip steel products with low cost and high performance, the after rolling cooling zone of 2050mm hot rolling strip mill is equiped with complete ultra-fast colling system. Besides RAL of Northeastern University, which has won the bid for ultra-fast cooling system, SMS, a well-known international metallurgical equpipment firm, and electric automation system firm TMEIC won the bid for machinery equipment of whole production line and electric automation system, respectively.
Under the guidance of Academician Wang Guodong, the new generation TMCP technological theory and equipment technology of hot strip mill of Northeastern University has been continuously enriched and improved, and a series of new research and application progress have been made. At present, the ultra fast cooling technology team of hot rolling strip steel led by Professor Yuan Guo has already been engaged in in the design of ultra fast cooling system for 2050mm production line of Rizhao Fine Steel Base, SISG.
It is reported that in order to enhance its overall competitiveness, and realize structural adjustment and industrial upgrading and transformation, Shandong Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd intends to construct the Rizhao Fine Steel base inLanshan Industrial Park of Rizhao City, Shandong Province. The base will have an annual output of iron 8.1 million tons, steel billet 8.5 million tons, and rolled steel 7.9 million tons. In order to meet the production target, the base will build two 5,100 m3 blast furnaces, four 210 ton converters, as well as RH and LF refining furnace, which will be in a leading position all over the world. It is expected that the rolling capacity of the mill will not be out of date in at least 20 years. The base will adopt the pressure-type ultra-fast cooling equipment, which uses controlled water cooling system to improve the performance of steel rather than by adding alloy. The equipment level of the base will be world class.
