From June 13 to June 15, 2016, Guo Yansheng, Director of Heavy Plates Factory, and other 3 technical experts from Zhongpu (Handan) Iron and Steel Co. visited RAL, and had a detailed design review on the Advanced Cooling System for Plate Mill (ADCOS-PM) for 3,500mm plate production line of Zhongpu (Handan) Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Prof. Wang Zhaodong, Director of RAL, and other relevant researchers participated this detailed design review meeting. During the meeting, leaders and technical experts from Zhongpu (Handan) Iron and Steel Co. Ltd listened to RAL’s detailed design reports on water-cooling system, mechanical equipment, hydraulic equipment and electric automation. The two sides conducted an in-depth discussion on relevant questions afterwards and put forward some optimization advice.
RAL have already undertaken ADCOS-PM projects for 4,300mm plate of Ansteel, 4,300mm plate of Shouqin Steel, 2,800mm plate of Nanjing Iron & Steel, 4,700mm plate of Nanjing Iron & Steel, 3,800mm plate of Xinyu Steel, 3,450mm plate of Shaoguan Steel, 3,500mm plate of Tang Steel. The ADCOS-PM for 3,500mm plate production line of Zhongpu (Handan) Iron and Steel Co. Ltd is RAL’s another new ultra-fast cooling project for plate mill. So far, this technique has been applied in 11 plate production lines in China, marking that the ultra-fast cooling-based new-generation TMCP has been widely recognized by the steel industry. With this platform, Zhongpu (Handan) Iron and Steel Co. will gradually implement the R&D and production of energy-saving and environment-friendly high quality plates, which will reduce the company’s production cost and enhance its products’ competitiveness.
