On September 12th, Prof. Yu-ichiKomizo from Joining and Welding Research Institute of Osaka University visited RAL at the invitation of the state key laboratory, and had negotiation for further academic and technical cooperation.
In the morning, Prof. Yu-ichiKomizo delivered an academic report named “Metallurgical Design for High Strength Steel” at the academic conference hosted by Director Wang Zhaodong. In his report, Prof. Yu-ichiKomizo elaborated on the processing technology, organization features and phase transformation behaviors of advanced high strength steel, introduced the formation mechanism of acicular ferrite in welding heat-affected zone, and explained the performance adjustment technique of high heat input welding steel HAZ. The report has aroused great interest from the teachers and students in the laboratory, and Prof. Yu-ichiKomizo answered questions raised by the students. Prior to the academic report, RAL held a ceremony to appoint Prof Yu-ichiKomizo as a distinguished foreign professor of RAL. Academician Wang Guodong attended the ceremony and issued the letter of employment. After the conference, Prof. Yu-ichiKomizo visited RAL’s rolling mill, thermal simulator, fiction stir welding machine and other equipment.
