RAL’s Patent Was Awarded “Excellence Award” in the 18th China Patent Prize

Recently, the evaluation results of the 18th China Patent Awards were announced. The invention patent for the “After Rolling Cooling System Based on Ultra-fast Cooling Technology and the Application Method of the System” was awarded “Excellence Award” in the 18th China Patent Prize pre-winning projects.

Researchers from RAL, including Wang Zhaodong, Yuan Guo, Tian Yong, Wang Bingxing, Li Yong, Han Yi, Wang Lijun, and Wang Guodong, invented the patent of “After Rolling Cooling System Based on Ultra-fast Cooling Technology and the Application Method of the System”. The patent discloses a post-rolling cooling system based on ultra-fast cooling technology and the application method of the system for after-rolling cooling technology of plates. For the first time, a combined cooling equipment arrangement method, which both integrates an ultra-fast cooling and laminar cooling, is designed. Through designing key techniques like tilted slit nozzle, high-density pipe nozzle and laminar cooling nozzle, the patent has enabled ultra-rapid cooling and wide-range cooling rate adjustment and cooling homogeneity under high-intensity cooling conditions, meeting the cooling technology needs of medium and heavy plate products such as ACC/UFC/UFC+ACC. The technical invention has been applied in 11 medium-thick-plate coil production lines in China and achieved good results, and gained significant economic and social benefits.

It is reported that another patent of Northeastern University was also awarded “Excellent Award” in 18th China Patent Awards. The patent is “Method and Device for Leak Detection of Fluid Conveying Pipelines Based on Wavelet and Pattern Recognition” invented researchers from College of Information and Engineering including Liu Jinhai, Feng Jian, Zhang Huaguang, Ma Dazhong, and Wu Zhenning.
