Professor Li Leijun from University of Alberta of Canada Lectured in RAL

On December 20th, 2016, at the invitation of RAL, Professor Li Leijun, a professor from the Department of Chemical and Material Engineering of the University of Alberta in Canada and the National Welding Center of Canada delivered a lecture for the teachers and students of RAL in the Academic Reporting Hall of RAL. The lecture was titled “Intergranular Fracture and Inverse Bainite in Eutectoid Low Alloy Steels”. Prof. Zhang Dianhua, deputy director of the laboratory, hosted the lecture.

Prof. Li Leijun started his lecture with the analysis and solution of the fracture process of eutectoid steel, introduced the complex mechanism of the fracture behavior and the causes and mechanism of the inverse bainite transformation in the fracture process in simple language, and provided inspiring ideas and methods for the research in fatigue fracture of steel materials. During the lecture, Prof. Li also put forward many scientific experimental design ideas and programs, which aroused great interests and led to a heated discussion. After the lecture, Professor Li answered questions and puzzles of teachers and students one by one.

In the future, Professor Li Leijun will work with RAL to conduct in-depth cooperation in the fields of welding and fracture.
