On August 21st, a delegation of experts from POSCO in South Korea came to RAL for an exchange visit. Members of the delegation include Kim Sang-yun South, team leader of POSCOCEM, Doctor Chung Jea-sook and researcher Hwang Jong-yeon from POSCO Institute of Technology, Cho, Hyeon-jin, deputy director of the technology department in Posco China, and Liang Xizi. Academician Wang Guodong and Prof. Yuan Guo met with the guests. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on endless rolling technology.
Academician Wang Guodong extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation of experts from POSCO, South Korea, and spoke highly of the achievements made by POSCO in technology innovation. Kim Sang-yun stated that Northeastern University was an outstanding metallurgical institution. POSCO and Northeastern University had co-operations in scientific research projects with Northeastern University for many years. He hoped that both sides could continue to further strengthen exchange and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, so as to jointly make contributions to the innovation of the steel industry.
Subsequently, Kim Sang-yun introduced the latest research progress of POSCO in CEM (Compact Endless Cast & Rolling Mill). Academician Wang Guodong, Prof. Yuan Guo and the visiting experts conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the relevant technical issues of the production line.
