On December 7th-8th, The 4th International Symposium on Advanced Rolling Equipment Technology and Green & Intelligent Material Processing was held in Jianlong Lecture Hall in the Science and Technology Museum of Northeastern University. Wu Zhenghuan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Huang Qingxue, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Taiyuan University of Technology, Wang Guodong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Hongmin, President of Yanshan University, Hu Yuren, researcher and head of the Rolling Process Group in China Steel (Taiwan), Axel Rimnac, ESP Endless Rolling Automation expert in Primetals Technologies in Austria, Wang Kun, Executive Director and Head of Technical Research Department of Nippon Yakin Kogyo Co., Ltd., Xu Jinwu, Director of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology 2011 and former President of Beijing Science and Technology University, Zhao Ji, President of Northeast University, and Tang Lixin, Vice President of Northeastern University attended the meeting along with other experts.

The symposium under the leadership of Metallurgical Equipment Branch of China Metal Society, was co-hosted by Northeastern University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, Yanshan University and Taiyuan University of Technology, organized by the State Key Laboratory of RAL, and co-organized by the Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology, metallurgical equipment design theory and technology State Key Laboratory Training Center , the National Cold Rolling Strip Equipment and Process Engineering Technology Research Center, and the National Strip Production Advanced Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center.
On December 7, Academician Hu Zhenghuan, Academician Wang Guodong, Academician Huang Qingxue, Professor Xu Jinwu, Professor Liu Hongmin, Axel Rimnac, Wang Kun, Hu Renren and some other experts delivered special guest lectures at the main venue. On December 8, the conference was divided into three venues, namely the rolling forming process and equipment technology application, steel and new material forming process theory and technology, and material forming automation control theory and technology application. Many experts and scholars delivered academic reports in these venues.
Experts and scholars at the symposium centered on the theme of “Green, Intelligent, Collaborative, and Innovative” and covered various fields such as rolling, metallurgy, forging, and materials. The topics they discussed included the new technologies of steel and heavy machinery, cutting-edge techniques of equipments, future development, and so on. The symposium provided intellectual support for the acceleration of the high-efficiency, intelligence, and green development of technical equipments and manufacturing processes in the rolling field, to the implementation of the “Made in China 2025” development strategy, and to the strategic goal of transforming China from a large equipment manufacturing country to a strong power.
