From January 29th to February 4th, a delegation consisting of 11 experts and top officials from Sunwah Northeastern University Steel Advanced Technology R&D and Transfer Center visited the steel industry in Vietnam, marking that the Center officially entered a country along the route of “Belt and Road” in response to the national "The Belt and Road" initiative.
The delegation was headed by Professor Wang Zhaodong, Director of the Center, and Cai junsi, Executive Director of Sunwah Group and Director of the Center. During the five-day visit, the delegation met with senior management of various professional steel bodies, associations and influential steel corporations in Vietnam, including Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam University of Science and Technology, Vietnam Steel Association, Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vietnam’s Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Gongying Steel Corporation, and Pomina Steel Corporation. The delegation also paid a visit to the Vietnam Cai Guanshen Cultural Center (Hanoi) and the Sunwah Center in Ho Chi Minh City. Through the visit, they learned more about the status quo of Vietnam's steel companies, shared advanced steel technology of Sunwah Northeastern University Centre with the Vietnamese counterparts, and expressed the intention of cooperation in the application of advanced technologies and personnel exchanges. The visit has built up a friendly platform for the in-depth and extensive cooperation in the future.
During the visit, Hong Xiaoyong, the Chinese Ambassador in Vietnam met with the delegation. Hong highly appraised the effort of the Centre to promote advanced steel technology transfer and cooperation projects in countries along the “Belt and Road” route, and stated that the embassy would actively assist and provide necessary support to the projects.
Sunwah Northeastern University Steel Advanced Technology R&D and Transfer Center is a joint venture between Sunwah Goup and Northeastern University, and its IT infrastructure was supported by Neunn Technology Co., Ltd. Professor Wang Guodong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and “Father of Super-steel”, serves as director of the Centre and Doctor Cai Guanshen, deputy director of Committee of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sport CPPCC, Chairman of Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, Chairman of Sunwah Group serves as chairman of the Centre. The Centre aims to provide its customers with a full range of iron and steel technology solutions, and to provide advanced technology to the countries along the “Belt and Road” route.
