Recently, the president of China Aluminum Association Zeng Libin and his delegation came to Northeastern University for an exchange visit at the invitation of the state key laboratory RAL and were warmly received by Director Wang Zhaodong. The two sides conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges on related topics such as localization of aluminum alloy heat treatment equipments, data-based research on aluminum alloy heat treatment processes, and application cooperation among industry, university and research, which laid the foundation for future cooperation between the two sides.

Zeng Libin stated that the state key laboratory RAL in Northeastern University had made unremitting efforts in innovation under the leadership of Wang Guodong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Wang Zhaodong, director of the laboratory. In addition to meeting the needs of China’s urgently needed project, it had also continuously carried out extensive application cooperation among industry, university and research. The performance of the heat treatment equipment and the online and offline quencher products developed by RAL had exceeded international level on related equipments, and the product sales price was several million dollars higher than that of foreign products. This fully demonstrated that Northeastern University had applied its research results into industry and made outstanding contribution to the development of the industry. It had truly written the research paper on the production line. We believed that the model of Northeastern University was worth popularizing to all universities across China, and we also hoped that we could carry out extensive cooperation with Northeastern University in aluminum alloy heat treatment equipment and data technology research.
Wang Zhaodong pointed out that the state key laboratory RAL had been committed to innovation under the leadership of Academician Wang Guodong. With increased investment in science and technology, RAL had cultivated a group of engineers with practical operational capabilities to serve the conversion of laboratory results. At present, all the heat treatment equipments of major steel mills in China are provided by Northeastern University. In the future, it will continue to invest in new fields and new product development and continuously enhance its market competitiveness, so as to make contribution to the construction of a material power.
