On December 25th, HBIS Group Co., Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Northeastern University held the signing ceremony of the joint establishment of the “Joint Innovation Center of Intelligent Steel Manufacture Empowered by Industrial Internet” (referred to as the Joint Innovation Center) in Shenzhen, in order to promote the deep application of technology such as cloud computing, big data, AI, 5G, etc. in steel industry as well as lead the top-level design and standards formulation of the industrial Internet in steel industry, adhering to the mission of “face to the future, focus on practical results, open-up, collaborate and share the development” .
Yu Yong (Party Secretary and Chairman of HBIS Group), Xu Zhijun (Rotating Chairman of Huawei Technologies) and Zhao Ji (President of Northeastern University) attended the signing ceremony. Some third-party expert teams also participated in related activities including Wang Guodong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Northeastern University.

It is reported that the joint innovation center established this time will serve as a platform for production, education and research of the industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing of steel industry, focusing on solving the key and fundamental issues of upgrading, improving quality and raising efficiency of the steel industry, and leading the promotion of the high-quality development of steel industry. In the future, the three parties will work together to build the joint innovation center into a platform of technological research and development for industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing in global steel industry, a demonstration base of national strategies such as China’s industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing, as well as a gathering and training base of cutting-edge technical talents of intelligent manufacturing in China's steel industry.
