On December 30, the signing and launching ceremony of the Joint Laboratory for Future Automobile Steel Technology by Brilliance Auto, Ansteel Group and Northeastern University was held at Ansteel Group. This is an innovative move to integrate the resources of technical research, product development, test and certification by the three parties, facing the important historical juncture of structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading in China's automobile industry.
The distinguished guests attending this ceremony are Yan Bingzhe, Party Secretary and President of Brilliance Auto, Liu Tongfu, Executive Vice President of Brilliance Auto, Tan Chengxu, President and Party Secretary of Ansteel Group, Wang Yidong, Deputy Manager of Ansteel Group, XiongXiaomei, Party Secretary of NEU, Zhao Ji, President of NEU, Tang Lixin, Vice President of NEU, etc.
President Yan Bingzhe said that Ansteel is the cradle of steel industry with great contributions to the establishment of China’s industrial system. Northeastern University is one of the national first-class key universities, which is in the front rank of China's universities in terms of teaching, research, talent training and industry-university-research cooperation. The cooperation of the three parties will provide our company a great impetus. We will cherish this opportunity, and help Brilliance Auto realize the high-quality development and enhance Brilliance Auto's brand image and influence relying on the platform of tripartite cooperation.
President Zhao Ji said that the current new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation make the cross-border cooperation an inevitable choice. Northeastern University will give full play to its advantages in science, technology and talents, make use of its large number of high-level scientific research achievements in steel technology, and carry out all-round cooperation with Ansteel Group and Brilliance Auto. We will integrate technical strength and optimize industrial resources in order to give new impetus to industrial development and provide new boost for the construction of NEU.
President Tan Chengxu said that Brilliance Auto has developed rapidly in recent years, becoming the pride of our state-owned automobile brands. We hoped that Brilliance Auto will develop towards the bright future raising the banner of China’s state-owned automobile brands even higher. Northeastern University, one of the key universities listed in the “Double First-Class” Plan, has accumulated richly, broken forth vastly, obtained fruitful results of scientific research and made great contributions to China's steel industry. Ansteel Group will work together with Brilliance Auto and Northeastern University to solve the stranglehold problems restricting China's development and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
At the ceremony, the representatives of the three parties jointly signed the cooperation agreement, marking that the three parties will embark on the cause of joint innovation in the field of research and development of automobile steel. According to the agreement, the joint laboratory will carry out the interdisciplinary and innovative research and development in the fields such as automobile materials designing, applied technology optimization, based on the technological results of lightweight automobile steel with high strength and toughness by Prof. Yi Hongliang of NEU. And the laboratory will help to build the strategic partnership of the three parties, carry out related researches on automobile steel according to the demands of automobile industry and the development trend of steel plates, and conduct the development and research of DP steel, TRIP steel, DH steel, ultra-high-strength hot forming steel, and low-density automobile steel δ-TRIP for lightweight. It will also train talents for the development and application of automobile steel materials for the three parties. The establishment of the laboratory integrating production, education and research will help the brands affiliated to Brilliance Auto such as Zhonghua to enhance the strength of body manufacturing, improve passive safety, realize the lightweight of automobile, reduce fuel consumption, and accelerate the launch of Ansteel's new products. At the same time, it will help the transformation of the research results of the Laboratory of Automobile Iron and Steel Materials at NEU, and makes greater contributions to the revitalization of the northeast old industrial base and the realization of the dream of a powerful automobile country.
After the ceremony, Ansteel Group and Northeastern University held a school-enterprise cooperation exchange meeting. Leaders of Northeastern University and Ansteel Group attended the meeting. Experts such as Wang Guodong and Tang Lixin, professor of NEU and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, conducted in-depth discussions with relevant experts from AnsteelGroup, and reached a consensus on the strategic cooperation and joint support for the construction of the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation.
XiongXiaomei said that Northeastern University has a deep friendship with AnsteelGroup, and people of NEU hope to help Ansteel lead the development of China's steel industry and realize NEU's own value in this process. Xiong emphasized that the most outstanding feature of NEU is its close integration with enterprises. There are the scientific research results by people of NEU in nearly all of the production lines of China's steel enterprises. In this in-depth cooperation with Ansteel, Northeastern University means to deeply cooperate with Ansteel and contribute to solving the technical difficulties that Ansteel needs to deal with. After New Year's Day, researchers of NEU will go deep into the production line of Ansteel and strive to solve practical problems for the enterprise promoting the two parties to make breakthroughs in the cooperation.
