October 13, the cooperation agreement between Jianlong Group and “Joint Innovation Center for Green and Intelligent Steel Technology” (hereinafter referred to as Joint Innovation Center) of Northeast University were launched by Yang Xianli and Sun Lei, vice president of Jianlong Group and general manager of Fushun New Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and vice president of Northeast University respectively. Zhang Zhixiang, chairman and president of Jianlong Group, and Zhao Ji, president of Northeastern University jointly unveiled the center. Yuan Zhanyong, vice president of Jianlong Group, chairman and general manager of Beijing Huaxia Jianlong Mining Technology Co., Ltd., and heads of relevant enterprises and schools attended the ceremony.

The joint innovation center is led by Wang Guodong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Northeast University, and some other technical experts.
The joint innovation center will focus on the key and fundamental problems, the upgrading and transformation, quality and efficiency of the iron and steel industry.At present, 9 research projects have been set up, including new technology and application of rolling technology, intelligent steel rolling products, emission reduction and so on.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the cooperation between Jianlong Group and Northeastern University. Both sides have formed a good development trend of complementary advantages and win-win cooperation, and set a successful example of long-term cooperation between universities and enterprises. Undoubtedly, those academic and industrial advantages of both sides in the field of green and intelligent steel technology will contribute a lot to the center that sticks to industry-university research cooperation all long, which will make an important contribution to the construction of the first-class university of Northeast University and the technological innovation of Jianlong Group.

He pointed out that from the perspective of the history of modern industrial development, steel is the “backbone” of modern industrial civilization. Whether in the past, now or in the future, steel is the most cost-effective metal material. Although China’s steel demand has entered the peak platform period, it will remain stable for a long time in the future. On the one hand, with reference to the urbanization rate of 80% in the mainstream developed countries, China’s urbanization still needs to go through a long process; on the other hand, China has become the largest manufacturing country, ranking first for many years and accounting for more than 30% in the world. This means the demand for steel during China’s urbanization and the development of manufacturing industry is very high.
In order to achieve the transformation and upgrading of steel and iron technology, Jianlong Group will continuously innovate from five aspects to ensure intelligent manufacturing, green environmental protection, industry city integration, industrial extension and platform. we hope that both sides can give full play to their respective advantages, collaborative innovation through more in-depth cooperation, and mutual development.
