On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the 16^th International Conference on “Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT 2013)”. The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, Sep. 22-26, 2013, and organized by the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the SME, Taipei Chapter. 

AMPT 2013 is the 16^th event in the series, and furthermore, is the 20^th anniversary since its inauguration. With two decades of glorious and well-recognized experiences, AMPT 2013 is bound to be a major global event in the manufacturing research community and industry. This event has been a good opportunity for expert engineers and researchers to share their new ideas and progresses in manufacturing engineering. This conference covers a wide range of fields including manufacturing processes, materials, automation and control, mechanical design, manufacturing management, and bio-medical manufacturing. We cordially invite interested researchers to participate this conference, and ask you to spread this information among your colleagues.

Taiwan, once known as “Formosa” (a beautiful island) by the 16^th century Portuguese, is full of natural beauty and cultural uniqueness.
