Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the 16th International Conference on “Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT 2013)”. The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, Sep. 22-26, 2013, and organized by the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the SME, Taipei Chapter.

AMPT 2013 is the 16th event in the series, and furthermore, is the 20th anniversary since its inauguration. With two decades of glorious and well-recognized experiences, AMPT 2013 is bound to be a major global event in the manufacturing research community and industry. This event has been a good opportunity for expert engineers and researchers to share their new ideas and progresses in manufacturing engineering. This conference covers a wide range of fields including manufacturing processes, materials, automation and control, mechanical design, manufacturing management, and bio-medical manufacturing. We cordially invite interested researchers to participate this conference, and ask you to spread this information among your colleagues.

Taiwan, once known as “Formosa” (a beautiful island) by the 16th century Portuguese, is full of natural beauty and cultural uniqueness. Glamorous ocean coasts, canyons, forests and mountains are among the most popular attractions. In the cultural aspects, the Palace Museum, various temple festivals, and the famous night markets are also tourists’ favorites. The conference venue, the Grand Hotel, is also a famous landmark with profound history and architectural features.

We would like to invite you to come to Taiwan for a splendid conference AMPT 2013 and an enjoyable visit of tourist attractions.

Zone-Ching Lin, AMPT 2013 Conference Chairman
You-Min Huang, AMPT 2013 Co-Chairman
